What is RAID?

There are several different types of RAID but for business use it would be RAID 1 (MIRROR). Basically what this does is automatically create two copies of your data which means your system is safeguarded from hard drive failure. If a drive fails, your computer would keep on running and allow you to get that vital work done. It's not a substitute for backups but keeps you working until you can get the failed drive replaced.
